"I was very honored when I was approached by Lucky Strike to create a special commissioned painting for their collection. I recalled Keith Haring and pop artist Mel Ramos' havine created pieces using the Lucky Strike logo, and thought this would be great.
So, as artists do, I had to create works on paper to figure out the concept for the painting. And that is where these works come from. I had my printer, Master printer Nenad Bozic, create a Lucky Strike silkscreen image, and I in turn, took them, and started to cut and rip them to create the collage efects that I thought were important to the final piece.
These pieces represent those ideas, some good, and some flawed. But that is what is great about art, and the steps that an artist takes in exploring and fleshing out thoughts, ideas and motives...that not everyhting fits, and it's essential to keep going until the fight is over, and you finally figure it all out."
