Pour sa première exposition personnelle à la Speerstra Gallery de Paris, Xavier Magaldi propose une vision innovante de son travail. L’exposition OXYDE ( Reloaded ) s’adresse à notre instinct créatif. C’est dans une déclinaison de différentes tailles que les sculptures en acier se dressent telle une armée de vaisseaux, à la conquête de l’équilibre parfait. Chaque sculpture est composée de plusieurs pièces modulables, donnant naissance à un totem personnalisé cristallisant à lui tout seul l’esprit emblématique de Xavier Magaldi croisé à la créativité de son acquéreur et les rendant ainsi uniques de surcroît. Ces oeuvres d’une grande finesse en acier de type corten brut ou oxydé possèdent une patine toute spécifique qui apporte encore un peu de mystère et de séduction. Xavier Magaldi parvient indéniablement à défricher à travers son oeuvre plusieurs territoires jusqu’ici peu visités par des artistes extérieurs à ces domaines et à les synthétiser en un seul corpus. Figer le graffiti en le mathématisant tout en “déconstruisant le constructivisme” simultanément est un geste qui peut être salué comme un véritable tour de force, générant concrètement d’authentiques “objets du 3me type” aussi élégants que ludiques.

For his first personal exhibition at the Speerstra Gallery in Paris, Xavier Magaldi presents an innovative vision of his work.
The OXYDE ( Reloaded ) exhibition speaks to our creative instinct. The steel sculptures, arrayed in various sizes, stand erect like an army of spaceships ready to conquer the perfect equilibrium.
Each sculpture is made of several modular pieces, giving birth to a personalized totem that will by itself crystallize the emblematic spirit of Xavier Magaldi together with the creativity of its buyer, which will therefore also render it even more unique. These very fine works of raw Corten or oxidized steel possess a very specific patina that provides further mystery and seduction. Throughout his work, Xavier Magaldi undoubtedly manages to tread into several new territories that have so far seldom been visited by artists outside of these domains and to synthesize them in a single corpus. To freeze the Graffiti by mathematizing it while simultaneously “deconstructing constructivism” is a gesture that can be hailed as a true “tour de force”, generating tangible, authentic “Objects of the Third Kind” that are as elegant as they are playful.
